Fulham’s under 21s have been drawn against Colchester United, Gillingham and Wycombe Wanderers in Group G of this season’s Football League Trophy.
Hayden Mullins’ side beat Shrewsbury in last season’s competition, but were then edged out by Walsall and thrashed 7-1 at eventual finalists Birmingham City, for whom Jay Stansfield scored a hat-trick. The Premier League academy sides are drawn away for all three group games and the tournament remains regionalised until the quarter finals.
The first round of group fixtures is scheduled for 1 September – but full dates and ticketing information will be published in due course.
