Fulham have turned down an offer worth £32m from newly-promoted Leeds United for striker Rodrigo Muniz.
A report from the Standard’s Dom Smith states that Leeds offered £26m up front and a further £6m in add-ons and we have confirmed the veracity of that information with Fulham sources. Fulham immediately rejected the offer and have no wish to sell the Brazilian striker. The Cottagers intend to open discussions with Muniz’s representatives about a new long-term deal for the forward, who scored eleven goals in 32 appearances for Fulham last season, this summer.
The Whites rebuffed interest in Muniz from West Ham United last January and would entertain offers below £50m for the former Flamengo centre forward. Muniz has scored 26 goals in 97 games for Fulham, but was second choice striker to Mexican veteran Raul Jimenez for much of last season.
Leeds United can bug off !! We are not selling Muniz !! Period !!
Why would Rodrigo go there?
Hopefully Leeds will move on to other targets having been rebuffed. I really rate Muniz and would like to see him at Craven Cottage for years to come – but that depends on a) him signing a new contract and b) Fulham making progress in the year ahead. Jury’s out on all of that.
Why wouldn’t he Zoe!
Let’s see, Mike.
1) He loves London
2) Silva brought him from Brazil and has gradually nurtured his talent.
3) He will get more regular Premier League football this season.
4) He’s played in the Premier League for the past two years for a top half/mid-table side.
5) He’s expressed no desire to leave.
6) Leeds’ first objective will be avoiding relegation this season. It would be a step down.
Leeds are a far bigger club than fulham that’s why. Their potential is top 6 again.
Where did Leeds finish in last season’s Premier League, Jason? Or the 2023/2024 season? Or the one before that?
Where have you finished more often than not Andy?
Why is other Media calling it a monster bid about average for today. Prises . And Jason Leeds not been a big club for a long time. If you wanna go back in past Sheffield Wednesday are a big. If Leeds can stay up more than a couple of years may get big again don’t usually. Big risk for Muniz to take only short career
A Muniz move isn’t on the cards: thank goodness! These teams need to fish in other ponds.
Never perhaps they would like ESR for the same money
LOL at the Leeds fans giving it the big ‘un here.
Why would Rodrigo leave an established Premier League team like Fulham for a yoyo team like Leeds???
I wish we could be talking about bids we have made but I suppose I will have to wait another 10 weeks for that
The funniest thing here is there’s anyone who thinks Leeds will finish top six. Fulham won’t either, but come on.
