Calvin Bassey has been voted Fulham’s player of the season – comfortably winning the supporter poll held via the club’s official website.
The Nigerian centre back collected 39.6% of all votes cast, finishing well ahead of compatriot Alex Iwobi, who took second place on a 21.5% share of the vote. American full back Antonee Robinson came in third (with 19.9%), with goalkeeper Bernd Leno in fourth (10.9%) and Serbian midfielder Sasa Lukic finishing fifth having taken 8.1% of the vote.
Bassey told the Fulham fans:
“Thank you guys for voting me player of the season. I want to thank God – without God I wouldn’t be where I am. Big up all my team, guys who are not necessarily at the club, who have been helping me. Obviously, thanks to the coaching staff and the manager for trusting me and believing in me. Hopefully we can do amazing things next season, so thank you for your support guys.”
