Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz has given a revealing post-season interview to Brazilian publication UOL – in which he heaps praise on Marco Silva and reveals that he owes his Premier League success to modelling his game on Hulk.

Muniz, who has stepped out of the shadows of Aleksandar Mitrovic to score crucial goals for Fulham over the past twelve months including the winner at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, revealed the depth of his commitment to adjusting to the pace and power of the English game.

“I’ve been following Hulk for a long time. Ever since I arrived here (England) I saw that it’s a very contact game, and you need to be stronger than in Brazil. I started working on that more. At the time I was working with the physical trainer who used to work for Flamengo, Douglas, and we started studying Hulk and Adama Traoré. Then I started following Hulk more, I sent messages, we talked and on the last two vacations I went to Brazil I went to watch Atlético play. His career is incredible.”

Muniz is modest about the fact that he scored against Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester City and champions Liverpool – twice – saying:

“It’s good to score against any team, but against these teams it’s a different experience. I’m happy to be able to play against these teams and scoring is my job. Marco Silva, who brought me here, is a very ambitious guy. No matter who we play against, he always wants to win. Against the top teams, he has a strategy and it almost always works. This year we’ve been performing well against these teams and I’m happy to be scoring goals.”
