Fulham winger Martial Godo has been called up to the Ivory Coast’s under-23 squad for their international friendly against the Netherlands in Groningen on Friday June 6.
Godo, who previously won six under-20 caps for England, has broken into the Fulham first-team squad this season having been handed a senior debut by Marco Silva back in 2022. The 22 year-old left winger, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Wigan Athletic last season, made his first Premier League appearance as a substitute against Southampton before Christmas and made five first-team appearances this term.
I’ll never quite understand how sports people can keep changing which country they represent. You’d think first choice settled it.
Anyway, when I saw him this season I was pretty impressed and hope he keeps improving and remains in the squad.
International games are now a joke and old fashion and with to much football should be scrapped. In now a cosmopolitan world we’re some players can choose up to four countries to play for. Used to in joy them one sometimes only chance to see players you’ve read about, now I find them very boring
Yes l hope that Godo makes the squad for next year, Hes an exciting prospect who will only get better.
