Reports from the Netherlands seem to suggest we might be seeing the last of Kenny Tete in a Fulham shirt in the final weeks of the season.

The Dutch right back, recently restored to Marco Silva’s first team after a long injury lay-off, has turned down Fulham’s offer of a new deal and is said to be interesting a number of clubs both in England and abroad. Soccer News, a leading Dutch publication, claims that Tete is unlikely to remain at Craven Cottage beyond the summer – when his current contract expires – and that he is open to a return to his homeland.

They confirm suggestions from last year that PSV Eindhoven made approaches to Tete’s representatives but a deal was not possible at that time as Fulham exercised their year-long option under the Dutch international’s contract. PSV are not though to be able to match the full back’s current wages – and Soccer News suggests he is unlikely to agree to a salary cut – but Tete’s old club Ajax are keen on bringing the 29 year-old back to the Johan Cryuff Arena.

The attack minded full-back began his career in Ajax’s academy and made 55 appearances for de Godenzonen before joining Lyon in July 2017. Tete has played 116 games for Fulham, helping the Whites re-establish themselves in the Premier League and his departure would be a big blow as Silva seeks to plan for next term.
