Hungarian outfit Fehérvár have signed Fulham’s creative midfielder Kristian Šekularac for an undisclosed fee.
The Swiss under-21 international, who joined the Whites from Juventus in July 2022, scored thirteen goals in 52 appearances for the Whites’ academy side. He had been linked with loan moves within England but has opted to join the Székesfehérvár-based side, who finished fourth in the Hungarian top flight last season.
Šekularac, the great nephew of Yugoslavian legend Dragoslav, will wear the number 28 for Fehérvár, told his new club’s website:
“I had several offers from many different offers from many different countries, but when Fehérvár came with [their] sporting plan for me it was the clear favourite because of the history of the club, the facilities here, their recent success in being able to bring players to the highest level of football. All the conditions came together with me and I was completely convinced by this opportunity.
I learned a lot at Fulham. There were some great coaches there. It’s obviously very quick, very physical. You’ve got to think before you get the ball. It helped me with my overall game, knowing what you need to do physically. I learned many different things.”
Why did Fulham let him go? He seemed such a good prospect for the future.
I watched him lots of times Ray not bad in our 21s but did not stand out younger ones coming through looked just as good, could be late developer . But ones that come through usually stand out at younger age Cav Sess Elliot King
I have seen him a few times our problem is for example we take on aprox 11 scholars for example chelsea take on 30.We are on a budget and with 23s now it’s 21s we have to make decisions, that’s why we must do the scouting properly I was told by some scouts watching our academy playing that we tend to go for smaller players, Elliot, roberts, sess and the snake who went to Brentford. We now put the best 17 yearolds in to 21s earlier which is a must ,I worked out theirs close to 10 could be released this summer.
we take on aprox 11 or 12
