Fulham have submitted an offer to take Roma right back Zeki Celik on a season-long loan, according to reports from Italy.

Gianluca di Marzio reports that former Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri – now in charge of the Serie A side – is currently considering the offer for the 27 year-old defender. Di Marzio suggests that Roma would prefer a deal that obliges Fulham to sign the Turkish international this summer, but discussions between all parties are ongoing.

Celik, who has made 65 appearances and scored three goals in three seasons with Roma, is understood to be interested in plying his trade in the Premier League as Fulham search for short-term competition for Timothy Castagne, with Kenny Tete likely to be out until April. The attack-minded full back, who has won 87 caps for his country, helped Lille win Ligue 1 four years ago.
