Fulham midfielder Kristian Sekularac is interesting Wigan Athletic, Leyton Orient and Hibernian in the final days of the January transfer window.
The highly-rated Swiss youth international has just returned to Hayden Mullins’ under-21 side following injury but could be set for a loan move away from Motspur Park for the remainder of the current campaign. The 21 year-old, who has flourished in Fulham’s age-group sides since moving from Juventus, is considered ready to move into senior football at a lower level having scored eight times in thirteen PL2 appearances before a knee injury interrupted his excellent season.
Wigan have a strong relationship with the Whites following Martial Godo’s successful loan last term and are believed to be the favourites to sign the versatile midfielder. Shaun Maloney is looking to add creativity to his squad following the salle of Thelo Aasgaard to Luton Town and the Latics already have former Fulham academy graduates Steven Sessegnon and Tyrese Francois on their books.
Leyton Orient, pushing for promotion from League Two under Ritchie Wellens, would offer Sekularac a taste of first-team action without needing to leave the capital, although how regularly he would feature for the O’s has to be a consideration given the strong form of their current loanees Jamie Donley and Dilan Markanday as well as former Fulham midfielder Ollie O’Neill.
Hibs have also been a recent destination for some of Fulham’s burgeoning talent – and it will be interesting to see where the fleet-footed midfielder ends up.
