Marco Silva has admitted that Fulham are looking to enter the transfer market in the closing hours of the winter window to sign replacements for the injured Harry Wilson and Kenny Tete.

The Fulham manager had indicated that his club were happy to do very little business at the end of this month before the Welsh winger was ruled out for ten weeks having suffered a stress fracture in his foot. With on-loan Reiss Nelson also still working his way back from injury, that leaves gaps in Silva’s squad that the Whites will look to fill with a late deal.

Silva told his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s trip to Newcastle United that he would also be trying to bring in a new right back to compete with Timothy Castagne at right back because of Tete’s continued injury lay-off.

“Of course, we are going to try. We are trying to get a player for his [Tete’s] position. We are looking for that position. Of course after the injury to Harry Wilson, we are looking for a player in that position [as well]. It doesn’t work in our favour because it’s a very short period of time until the end of the window”.
