Raul Jimenez couldn’t hide his disappointment at Fulham’s failure to beat Ipswich Town this afternoon – despite his two penalties rescuing a point for the Whites at Craven Cottage.
The former Wolves striker became the leading Mexican goalscorer in Premier League history, but was downcast when interviewed on the pitch following the final whistle by Sky Sports.
Jimenez said:
“A point is really bad for us. We did everything to win the game. We showed again that we can play well after going behind, but we need to score first and not leave it late to score. I’m really happy to score and help the team but we need to keep more clean sheets to win games.”
Always the same I’m afraid, when sides come to The Cottage and park the bus, we don’t have the creative ability to break them down. Periara couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo. Why we haven’t gobbled up 18m for him, God alone knows, and Smith- Rowe totally ineffective. Castagne not good enough at right back either. Work to be done.
John the correct analogy is “a cows a*** with a banjo”????
I always thought it was cows a*** with a shovel.
Were total crap and John Kitching summed it up perfectly, I don’t know why Silva didn’t read them the riot act at half time we were so slow and sloppy all over the pitch, we need 3 or 4 new players and get shot of ESR Periara and Castagne also need a centre back.
deffo – a banjo not that i”ve seen it happen “live”
Instead of Silva moaning that players should have been sent off I would rather hear from him about why we can’t break down Championship level teams that want to park the bus for 90mins.
Putting in 100 crosses from the left isn’t going to cut it. I’m next level pissed off. We should be top six with the opportunities wasted.
If we’d taken HALF the points we’ve dropped from winning positions, we’d be top FOUR comfortably. Currently top half level (just), but not consistent enough to push seriously for Europe. Tricky run of fixtures now against bottom half sides. COYW!
The stats don’t lie, games played 20 , goals scored 30(including 1 og), conceded 27.
No goals have been scored by any defender which is not surprising considering the delivery into the box from free kicks, corners etc.
Silva needs re-enforcements, players with firstly brains, ability and pace. One dimensional players like Traore don’t cut it, all speed no end product.
I was not happy with performance, but some of remarks well over the top about players. Were 9th in table could be higher. Lots of bigger clubs have problems when teams park bus. You lots must be very good at your jobs and never make mistakes. We’re having a good season support your team and stop moaning we’re not a big club we’re doing well and could be better with help from fans
I do agree with Daniel…..good start but could do better. If as others have stated we picked up dome of the points dropped from winning positions then we be top four. Good defence but not enough clean sheets and points lost. But no goals from defence either. Periara stll a big question mark for delivery balls, which 8 out of 10
times are not good enough. Finally 30 goals in 30 games isn’t enough to make progress. Why Josh didn’t come on and Traore did is still baffling me.
To beat teams that park the bus you need to run or pass your way through them and apart from Ts speed he can’t finish
Another awful performance at home against a bottom team. In 6 games against the bottom 5 teams this season (and 4 of those 6 have been at home) Fulham have 7 points out of a possible 18. That is 11 dropped points against the bottom 5.
That kind of form against the bottom teams equates to about 15th place this season.
It is time for Silva to go and get a decent manager to take them to the next level like Shottingham forest and Bournemouth.
