Fulham Women eased into the next round of the League Cup with a 9-1 demolition of Bexhill this afternoon as Georgia Heasman scored four of the goals in a devastating individual display.

The Whites took the lead in the twelfth minute. Megalie Mendes did well to keep the ball in play and teed up Heasman for a strike on goal. Heasman’s effort came back off the crossbar but the forward followed up to bury the rebound. Mendes made it two from the penalty spot four minutes later and Heasman hammered in her second of the afternoon with a fierce drive midway through the first half.

The influential Heasman turned provider four minutes later when she set up Mendes, who struck home the fourth with a sweet shot into the bottom left corner of the net. Steve Jaye’s side increased their advantage straight after half time when Belle Taylor-Makepeace beat the Bexhill goalkeeper with a lovely lob within seconds of the restart. Bexhill then headed into their own net from a Fulham corner before Heasman completed her hat-trick with an assured finish.

Heasman then saw another effort helped into the net by a beleaguered Bexhill defender. The home side did grab a deserved consolation before Heasman rounded off the scoring with a clinical effort after more excellent approach play from Taylor-Makepeace.
