Fulham have confirmed the appointment of Fernando Ferreira as the club’s new men’s first team goalkeeping coach.

The 46 year-old has been recruited by Marco Silva as a replacement for Fulham’s former goalkeeping coach Hugo Oliveira, who was appointed yesterday as the new manager of Portuguese top flight side Famalicão. Ferreira started his coaching career as a youth coach with Charneca Caparica before joining the Sporting Club de Lisbon academy, working with the club’s under-15, under-17 goalkeepers and under-19 goalkeepers.

Ferreira has also served as goalkeeping coach with  Real Sport Clube and Benfica, where he worked under Roger Schmidt, Bruno Lage and Nelson Verissimo.
