Fulham Women eased into the second round of the Capital Cup with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Sport London e Benfica at Motspur Park yesterday afternoon.
Georgia Heasman opened the scoring from close range in the fourteenth minute by turning home Belle Taylor-Makepeace’s low cross. Four minutes later it was two when Ella Tagliavini, fresh from scoring the equaliser against Saltdean at Craven Cottage last weekend, got on the end of Lily Stevens’ corner.
Ellie Olds added a third midway through the first half when she fired a fine ball from Heasman into the far corner. Taylor-Makepeace deservedly got on the scoresheet herself before half time and Tagliavini rounded off the scoring with by converting Taylor-Makepeace’s cross twenty minutes into the second period.
Steve Jaye’s side are also in cup action next weekend when they welcome Royston Town to Motspur Park in the second round proper of the Women’s FA Cup on Sunday – with kick off at 2.30pm.
