Fulham have registered their interest in signing Elfsborg’s cultured centre back Terry Yegbe, according to reports from Africa.

The 6ft 5in Ghanaian centre half has been watched by the club’s scouts after starring since moving to Sweden from Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho in January. The 23 year-old scored three times in 22 Allsvenskan appearances as Elfsborg finished seventh in the top flight and made twelve impressive appearances in the Europa League.

Yegbe, who has been called up to Ghana’s senior squad for this week’s vital AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger on the back of his brilliant club form, is now attracting interest from right across Europe. The Whites will need to fend off the attentions of the likes of Freiburg, Union Berlin, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United if they want to sign the dominant defender. Swedish sources suggest that Elfsborg will accept a deal worth £4m to sell Yegbe in the January transfer.
