Fulham midfielder Sander Berge played the full ninety minutes as Norway clinched promotion to the Nations League’s top tier with a 5-0 thrashing of Kazakhstan tonight.

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland hit a hat-trick, with Berge playing the striker in for his third goal of the evening. Alexander Sorloth and Antonio Nusa added the other goals to complete the rout. The Norwegians still had to rely on other results going their way to reach Group A – and Austria were nine minutes away from winning the group before Adam Gnezda Cerin’s equaliser for Slovenia forced Ralf Rangnick’s side into a promotion-relegation play-off.
