In-form Fulham forward Raul Jimenez has been recalled to the Mexico squad for their friendly matches against Valencia and the United States this month.
Jimenez has scored in three consecutive games for Fulham and his winning penalty at Nottingham Forest was his 50th Premier League goal. The 33 year-old striker had been dropped for the Copa America but after Mexico crashed out at the group stage, Jaime Lozano was sacked and replaced by Javier Aguirre.
Good luck to him. But I don’t like international football my only concern is all Fulham players come back fit. It’s now a cosmopolitan world, when plays can pick sometimes from 4 different country’s play for different youth teams all rather silly. We play to much football get rid of it
International friendlies need to go. Massive waste of time and just risk player injury and burn-out for no reason. Nations League too.
This annoys me yet again a blooming international break Why ? we just seem to get a run together then everybody’s off again
Congratulations to him. He must have worked very hard after his head injury. Hopefully selection will raise his form to an even higher level. Have to agree with the comments regarding “ Internationals” particularly friendlies and the Mickey Mouse competitions they keep coming up with. I wonder if the time will come when players, clubs or even countries decide enough is enough and opt out.
Totally agree with Keith. Getting hacked off by the “top clubs” moaning about how many games they have to play. If a player played in every game possible this season, including internationals it would be 86 matches but when you take into account most teams have 25+ players, then there is no need for anyone to play more than 40 times
