Former Fulham full back John Paintsil is stable and will make a full recovery after the shocking car crash in Ghana earlier today, according to the Ghanaian FA.
The vehicle that Painstil, who is now his nation’s assistant manager, was travelling in alongside manager Otto Addo and goalkeeping coach Fatawu Dauda was struck by a pick-up truck that strayed out of its lane as the Black Stars’ technical trio were driving towards Accra having watched the Cup final in Tarkwa.
An official statement issued by Ghana’s Football Association said:
Members of the Black Stars technical team were involved in a road accident while returning from Tarkwa. The vehicle carrying Head Coach Otto Addo, Assistant Coach John Paintsil and goalkeepers trainer Fatawu Dauda avoided a head-on collision with a pickup truck which veered off into its lane, with some damage to the vehicle. All three members of the technical team are in stable condition, and will undergo further medical assessments upon their return to Accra.”
