Former Fulham full back John Painstil has been rushed to hospital this afternoon after being involved in a horrific car accident in his native Ghana.
The popular right back, who made 91 appearances for the Whites between 2008 and 2011, is now Ghanaian assistant coach, working as number two to Otto Addo. Otto, Painstil and goalkeeping coach Fatawu Dauda were travelling back watching the Ghanaian cup final in Tarkwa to Accra in a car when their vehicle was hit head on by a pick-up truck that veered into the wrong lane.
Images of the incident shows extensive damage to the vehicle the Black Stars’ technical team’s vehicle, with the wheels missing and the car looking crumpled and burned.
We all wish John Paintsil well.
