Stoke City are interested in signing Fulham forward Jay Stansfield, according to Football Insider.

The Potters are the latest side exploring a permanent deal for the England under-21 international after Fulham rejected an approach from Birmingham City, where Stansfield starred last season. The Whites are reportedly open to selling the Exeter academy graduate should the terms of a deal be right, but are thought to be looking for around £8m to part ways with the talented youngster.

Blues, now in the third tier, are expected to return with a second offer for Stansfield, who didn’t feature in Fulham’s final pre-season friendly against TSG Hoffenheim yesterday.
