Fulham are still keen on signing Manchester City’s out-of-favour midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to a report in the Independent this afternoon.

The England international has attracted considerable interest from across the Premier League this summer despite a disappointing loan spell at West Ham United last season. He had been tipped to join Everton as a replacement for Andre Onana, but the Independent’s Richard Jolly claims that newly-promoted Ipswich and the Whites have joined the race to sign the former Leeds man.

Phillips has only made 31 appearances since signing for City in a £42.5m deal in July 2022 and is now considered surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola. It is likely that any move for the holding midfielder would be a loan deal and Fulham are thought to be eyeing the Thorp Arch academy graduate as a potential replacement for Joao Palhinha after moves for Scott McTominay and Andre floundered in recent weeks.
