Fulham have relaunched their pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay and set to table a new offer for the Scottish international this week, according to various reports this evening.

The Whites have had two bids rejected for the 27 year-old, who was a second half substitute as Erik ten Hag’s side beat the Londoners on Friday night. Fulham were not expected to re-enter the race to sign McTominay, who was reported to have agreed to join Serie A side Napoli over the weekend. The Italians, though, are said to be more open to a loan with an option to buy – whilst United would prefer a straight sale in order to raise funds for a revamp of ten Hag’s midfield.

Marco Silva is still searching for a replacement for Joao Palhinha in the last fortnight of the August transfer window and opted to pair Sasa Lukic with former Red Devils playmaker Andreas Pereira in the engine room at Old Trafford. United have previously been holding out for around £40m for McTominay, who has entered the last twelve minutes of his contract with his boyhood club. The two clubs have reopened talks regarding a possible deal.
