Fulham are in talks with Aston Villa over a potential deal to sign defender Diego Carlos, according to the Daily Mail.
The 31 year-old is looking for more regular first-team opportunities and is open to a move to the capital. The Brazilian has made 31 appearances during two injury-hit seasons at Villa Park, having seen his initial introduction to the Premier League disrupted by an Achilles complaint that required surgery.
Carlos, who won the Olympic gold medal with Brazil at the Tokyo Games in 2021, helped Sevilla win the Europa League in 2020. There is also interest from a number of continental clubs – but initial discussions between Fulham and Villa centre around the asking price for the experienced defender.
What is price. We should not pay too much as he 31. He is another player that has suffered from ijnury issues. I would prefer us to go for Isaak Toure from L’Orient. He is younger and asking price between 10 and 15 million. Competed aside is there anu updates about Andre incoming. It has gone quiet again
He is getting on a bit it I would prefer someone younger, really pleased ESR has finally signed now I hope we can get Andre.
A proven premiership defender? Don’t know if he will come to us though but I am sure Marco will have a chat with him so let’s wait and see might be worth a loan move with the option to buy
Just came back from watching a bit of this La Liga compilation of Diego Carlos and does seem really convincing. Can really defend a goal by the looks of it. Wouldn’t be a bad deal only if he isn’t too expensive.
He kept Erling Haaland Quiet last season
