Fulham are one of a number of clubs considering a late move for England international Joe Gomez after the defender was left out of Liverpool’s squad against Ipswich Town this afternoon as he considers his future.

The 27 year-old did not travel to Portman Road today and Paul Joyce, the northern football correspondent at the Times, reports that the Whites, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Chelsea are keen to sign the former Charlton centre back. Gomez has also attracted interest from a number of continental clubs.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva told his pre-match press conference on Wednesday afternoon that the club would bring in another centre back having seen Tosin Adarabioyo and Tim Ream leave during the summer. Gomez’s versatility would make him an intriguing option, but Liverpool are expected to drive a hard bargain should their longest-serving squad member elect to leave Anfield.
