Ryan Sessegnon has returned to Fulham on a free transfer, the club have confirmed tonight.

The 24 year-old has signed an initial two-year contract five years after leaving for Tottenham Hotspur in the aftermath of Fulham’s relegation from the top flight in 2019. Fulham have the option of extending that deal by a further twelve months and Sessegnon, who joined the club with his twin brother Steven aged eight, become Fulham’s first summer signing.

Sessegnon told Fulham’s official website:

“It’s amazing to be back. Emotional, as well. It’s where it started for me, where everything began, and it’s amazing to be back. “It will always be home for me. I think it had the feeling that it was meant to be, coming back here, so I’m delighted to get it done.”

Sessegnon returns to Craven Cottage having broken into Fulham’s first team set-up aged sixteen, ultimately scoring 25 goals and adding eighteen assists – including the Championship play-off final winner for Tom Cairney against Aston Villa at Wembley – in 120 appearances for the Whites. Comfortable operating either at left back or as a left winger, where he flourished in the 2018 promotion season under Slavisa Jokanovic, Sessegnon will provide valuable depth for Marco Silva ahead of Fulham’s third consecutive campaign in the top flight.
