Ryan Sessegnon is determined to ‘reach his full potential’ after completing an emotional return to Fulham this afternoon.

The 24 year-old has signed a two-year contract at Craven Cottage after being released by Tottenham earlier this summer – and says it is ‘fantastic’ to be back ‘where everything began’.

Speaking to FFCTV, Sessegnon said:

“It’s amazing to be back. Emotional as well. This is where it started for me, where everything began. It’s fantastic to be back. It will always be home for me. Five years on, a lot has changed, but a lot has stayed the same. It is just an amazing feeling to be back.

It has the feeling that it was meant to be to come back here. I’m glad to get it done. I’ve watched the last two seasons how well Fulham have done in the Premier League and all the work he’d done to get Fulham back up from the Championship. I’m no stranger to that and I know how a good a manager he is as well. I was always watching the Fulham games, following Fulham. I had the chance to play against Fulham when I was with Spurs and I came back to the Cottage too, but I didn’t get on the pitch.

I’m very excited to play my first game at the Cottage – that was the first thing I looked at when I signed – and just to see the fans again. I keep in touch with TC, I’ve been to his children’s events and he’s been to mine as well, that moment at the training ground in a Fulham shirt again was special. There’s some very familiar faces behind the scenes who will make it easier to pick up where I left off if you like.

I still want to reach my full potential, I’m still nowhere near that. I still have so much to give. I’m in a much better place physically and mentally now – I had difficult spells at Tottenham with the setbacks and the injuries, but I’m over that now.”
