Southampton have emerged as strong contenders to sign Fulham winger Bobby De Cordova-Reid, according to the Sun.
The Saints are seeking to boost Russell Martin’s attacking options on their return to the top flight and have identified the Jamaican international as a possible bargain signing. The 31 year-old could become a free agent as he has yet to sign the two-year contract that Fulham have put on the table – with reports earlier this summer suggesting that discussions between the Cottagers and De Cordova-Reid’s representatives had broken down.
The Sun says that Fulham are hopeful that the former Bristol City winger, who has scored 32 goals in 209 games for the club, will sign on to remain part of Marco Silva’s squad.
Please God let this be true! I don’t ask for much.
He can leave ,even though he is very versatile!!!.A very average player !!!
He can leave. It will not be that difficult to find a player that gives what he gives to the team.
Can’t believe that the Saints have offered a 31 year old a better deal than we’ve offered an aging, pretty average footballer.
BDR seems to be like marmite to our fanbase – Mr Cokery has put out more than one critical assessment to my memory. Like more than a few in our squad (and countless over the years) he has good games and bad games which is bound to become hard to watch when the one outweighs the other. Marco appears now to be guiding us towards a European qualification of some kind and the squad need to move forwards or it’ll be a Tuesday night at Shrewsbury. He also seems to like his wide players but both Willian and Jedi are not getting any younger. I could understand any team in the Championship wanting his services (and let’s face it history tells us that promoted clubs are in a very precarious position). I am enjoying watching the Copa America on Premier and I wish both BDR and the sainted Captain America well. COYW!!!
