Teamtalk are reporting that negotiations between Fulham and Bobby De Cordova-Reid have broken down – and that the Jamaican international is set to leave the club this summer.
The 31 year-old has been offered a two-year extension to his current Craven Cottage contract, but talks between the club and his representatives have collapsed. De Cordova-Reid has made 209 appearances for the Whites – scoring 25 goals – since signing from Cardiff City in 2019 and his versatility and leadership qualities have made him a key member of Marco Silva’s squad as Fulham have established themselves in the Premier League.
De Cordova-Reid could become the second member of Silva’s squad to depart on a free transfer, with Tosin Adarabioyo set to sign for Chelsea on July 1, with Everton and Leeds United reportedly interested in his services.
He can leave too !! Versatile but average and replaceable!!!
Shouldn’t let him leave. Of course he’s replaceable in each position he can play in. But in all of them at once? Obviously not. It’s always important to have someone like Bobby around, and he’s always a good alternative to players like Iwobi and Andreas.
If he/his agent is being foolish/greedy over money or terms though, then sure, off you go. We all know the offer isn’t insulting.
I would try and retain. He is perfect on the Substitutes bench. I really believe he loves Fulham and wonder if his agents sees it as payday for himself
YES!!!!
I agree with Malcolm’s comment that we should try to retain, however, he’s not that key a member of the squad and if the club has made an offer which has been rejected so be it. Players and their agents all too often have unrealistic estimates of their worth.
He is now 31 and we need to bring in some younger players with a sell on value, we can’t keep letting players leave on free transfer’s.
I agree with John.
I love Bobby, but we have development squads bursting with potential needing opportunities
