Callum Osmand admitted he was in dreamland after scoring a hat-trick as Fulham’s under 21s thrashed Tottenham Hotspur to win the Premier League Cup at Craven Cottage.
Hayden Mullins’ men stunned a Spurs side that had finished top of the PL2 standings with an irresistible start. The teenage striker got the ball rolling after three minutes and completed a perfect hat-trick before half-time to put the showcase final to bed.
A beaming Osmand told FFCTV after the final whistle:
“It feels unbelievable. It couldn’t have been more perfect today for me. Everything went the way I wanted it to. Just a perfect night, really. This is exactly what I was dreaming of. I said to the boys, ‘I was saying this was going to happen’. I’ve had a tough couple of weeks so this has been good to lift my spirits.
It’s been a great season for me. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it – and I’ll be pushing on for next season. It was my first time playing at the Cottage, first time getting on the pitch. I just want to push on and keep doing well.”
The lad looks classy. Another academy player which will be snapped up by a Liverpool or another club.
Wow. Never been to a U21 game before but last night was sensational. Football as it should be played. Slick, accurate passing, movement off the ball, aggression, commitment and toghetherness. Lets face it Spurs were lucky to get Nil. Everyone was superb and propably all have a future in the game.
I know Callum Osmand will get all the plaudits and rightly so. But what about Luc De Fourgerolles. What a talent. His reading of the game, protection of the ball and his passing.
We have a place for a centre back on Sunday……so why not????
