Fulham under 21s midfielder George Okkas is relishing the challenge of facing Manchester United at Motspur Park as Hayden Mullins’ men return to PL2 action this evening.

The young Whites are second in the table having won five of their six league games so far this season – and are just three points behind pacesetters Tottenham. The Cypriot international knows that United will be tricky opponents due to the pedigree of their academy.

He told the club’s official website:

“We’re expecting a difficult game. They’re a club that is known for producing elite young players. A game against this kind of opposition is always exciting and it brings out the best version of all of us. We’ve had plenty of days since our last game, so we’ve had time to prepare in all areas of the game. We looked at our weaknesses in the past few games and we have found ways to improve them. Our preparation has been pretty intense but it’ll put us in a great position come matchday.”

The nineteen year-old, who has scored once in six league appearances for the under 21s this term as well as appearing in three under-21 European Championship qualifiers for his country, wants to improve his own excellent individual form in the coming weeks.

“I am pleased with my progress this season as I have been improving every day with the help of my coaches and teammates. We have a lot of games coming up which is a great opportunity for me to get better.”
