Fulham head coach Marco Silva has confirmed that Sasa Lukic will miss tomorrow’s meeting with Luton Town through injury and that club captain Tom Cairney’s participation is in doubt.
The Serbian midfielder has yet to recover from the knee injury that forced him off during Fulham’s dramatic draw at Arsenal last month, whilst Cairney lasted only fifteen minutes at the Etihad before succumbing to a knee problem at the Etihad before the international break. Silva told his pre-match press conference this afternoon:
“I can tell you that SaÅ¡a Luki? is still going to be out. Tom is still in doubt – we are going to decide this afternoon if he is going to be involved or not in the squad list, like some of the others. He hasn’t done all the week with his teammates, he did some individual work yesterday and today. I’m going to take the decision, with our medical staff and with the player as well, to see if he can be involved or not in the squad list.”
Silva revealed that new signing Alex Iwobi is fit having had some early-season injury problems whilst he was with Everton and that the Nigerian international will be in his matchday squad against the Hatters.
“Alex Iwobi will be involved in the squad. He’s a player I know really well. He can play in many different positions behind the strikers, and in the number eight positions. He can play wide. More than that, he can do it with quality. We’re really happy to have him”.
Defender Tosin Adarabioyo, whose only appearance of the season so far came as a substitute at Arsenal, will be out for between seven and eight weeks after picking up an injury in training.
