Willian will be staying at Fulham despite receiving a massive offer to sign for Al Shabab, according to the Athletic.
The Brazilian winger was the subject of feverish speculation last week when Fabrizio Romano reported that he had agreed personal terms with the Saudi Pro League side just ten days after signing a new contract to stay at Craven Cottage. That deal, for an initial twelve months with Fulham holding an option of a year’s extension, contained a clause allowing the 34 year-old to move on if Fulham received an acceptable fee for his services – but Al Shabab were unable to reach an agreement with the Whites.
Marco Silva, whose personal intervention this summer was crucial in ensuring that the Cottagers kept hold of the former Arsenal and Chelsea winger after his sensational form on his surprise return to the Premier League last September, picked Willian for Saturday’s final pre-season friendly against Hoffenheim and told the press afterwards that he had no doubts about the player’s future. The Fulham head coach’s relationship with Willian remains strong and the winger is fully focused on start of the Premier League campaign at Everton on Saturday.
This is very good news being a Fulham supporter it’s good to keep hold on to our good players Willian as been a exceptional player
Who is Fabrizio Romano? Why is there so much attention paid to him. I read his rumour mongering and barely any of it comes to fruition
