Fulham head coach Marco Silva confirmed that Leicester full back Timothy Castagne was on the cusp of a permanent move to Craven Cottage this afternoon – and revealed that the defender was one of his top targets over the summer.
The Belgian international had his medical ahead of a £12m switch today and is expected to sign a long-term contract with the Cottagers within the next 24 hours. The 27 year-old, comfortable on either side of a back four and able to operate further forward, was at the top of Silva’s shortlist of potential signings back in May and the Whites appear to have beaten Juventus and a host of English clubs to his signature.
Silva told his press conference:
“It’s not 100 per cent done but it’s almost done and when this happens I can speak about him. He was one of my first targets since the beginning and when we started to plan for this season. We have Kenny [Tete] and [Antonee] Robinson who we are really happy with but we need a right back and we can get one with the quality of Timothy, with his experience and versatility at left-back also.
He’s a player who will give us very good solutions in terms of position, he’s a very good player who I believe will be a great addition for us. The feedback I have got is that things are on the right track and either today or tomorrow we will have news about him and he is really close to being our player, I am really pleased.”
He obviously wasn’t TK as it has taken 2 months and still not signed and we still need another 4 players which will be interesting with only 4 days to go, what a waste of time TK is.
This will be a good addition to the squad as he can play left and right also in front
the back four. We must be thankful our owners do support our managers since they bought the club and continue to invest just look at the Riverside Stand and there will be more signings. COME ON FULHAM.
