Fulham are close to completing a permanent deal to sign the Leicester City full back Timothy Castagne.

The Belgium international, comfortable in both full back positions, has been one of Marco Silva’s top targets throughout the summer and is expected to begin his Motspur Park medical tomorrow. Catasgne, who has not played for the Foxes in the Championship this season, had been hopeful of securing a move to Juventus but the Serie A side were unable to find the funds to sign the 27 year-old on a permanent basis.

Castagne, who was part of the Leicester side that won the FA Cup in 2021 by beating Chelsea in the final, has made 112 appearances in three years at the King Power Stadium, scoring three times. His departure was necessary to cut Leicester’s wage bill following relegation and the versatile full back is seen by Fulham as someone who can challenge both Kenny Tete and Antonee Robinson with the Whites desperate for defensive cover.
