Willian is willing to remain at Fulham if they put together a ‘more attractive’ offer for his services, according to reports from Brazil.
The Brazilian edition of Goal confirms tonight that the veteran winger was disappointed with the terms of the contract offer he was offered to remain at Craven Cottage and that he was hoping for more recognition of his consistency after starring for Marco Silva’s side, who finished tenth in the Premier League. The former Chelsea and Arsenal winger wants to remain in the Premier League and has authorised his representatives to talk to other English clubs but he doesn’t rule out remaining with the Whites if Fulham were to reopen negotiations.
Mr Khan open negotiations tomorrow. It seems obviously Willian wants to stay so lets see if we can get a compromise without delay
For heaven’s sake don’t let Willian leave – he was superb last term. Playing in the big league means financial commitment. I sense that if the club shows no ambition – we may end up losing Silva.
Open negotiations immediately. If he leaves we will probably have to pay an inflated transfer for a replacement who in all likelihood will not be half as good as Wiilian , whom in my opinion was one of the four star players last season. We must make a concerted effort to resign him. Also Marco rates him and not resigning him could affect him staying at worse and not extending his own contract at best. Surely a compromise can be sorted out so come back with an improved as a starter then negotiate
Madness if we let him leave , we should be offering him a 2 year deal without delay.
He was different class last season
Get a grip Fulham and get him before it’s too late.
He was offered a one year contract with both sides having a one year option he was on 50 thousand a week he wanted a rise that’s were the problem is. Looks good money to me, but not sure what the other players are on, be sad to lose him
This has all the hallmarks of small club syndrome. We are either a top league club or there are many others willing to take our place.
I feel this transfer window could determine our future one way or another for sone years to come
This time last year when he was being mentioned at Fulham everyone ran for the hills. Now …
We got him on a free, absolute madness to let him go and then have to go back in the market and pay good money for what will probably be an inferior player. Willian has been a joy to watch and he’s earned a decent deal.
William is open to staying for a year or two and I think an increase of 10-15k on top of his 50k will seal the deal. To let a world class player leave because of small margins is idiotic. Come on Khan get Willian around the table and re sign him.
Well this wasn’t predictable six months ago.
This is going to be an important transfer window every time I came to the Cottage last season and Willian was playing we were treated to something special it showed that Willian had played at a very high level and because of that he brought the playing level up not many teams could handle him it was great to watch it beggars belief that they can’t offer him a two year deal secondly the situation with Marco Silvas Contract that’s worrying as well then there’s Our player of the season Palinha to even think he was going is beyond me and go to any PL rival and make them stronger and to see them both not in a Fulham shirt but we all know who is to blame but it’s deja vu Mr Tony Khan and what about the supporters who have season tickets in the new stand who won’t be seeing Willian and possibly Palinha and maybe a few more players something is going on behind the scenes at our great club but we are only mushrooms
I’m not sure if any of this speculation is true but if it were and the club try to get Willian on the cheap it would speak volumes about the underlying intent. He has proved himself, after all the doubts, to be a considerable asset to the club proved by his commitment and quality last season. Additionally , in his demeanour he is a credit to the club, in the overall scheme of things I this is small beer surely. Think of the 100 and 1000s we squander on dross every season. There are currently half a dozen they pay each week for zilch contribution.
If Silva wants him for 2 years then get it over the line but if not then forget it . Most important is Silva – it’s he who has the magic formula .and keeping him is the primary objective everything else stems from there !
He was a delight to watch last season and I will be very disappointed if he is let go.
A 70 cap Brazil international who was one of the best wingers in the Premier League and one of our best players last season is surely worth more than 50k per week.
The Fulham hierarchy probably thought they could get away with paying him peanuts. For he has said in the past that money is secondary to him, and proved that by leaving Arsenal. But he seems to love the club and is a joy to watch, please do not test him anymore, and pay him what he deserves for 2 years
It is about time Marco Silva spoke out about the situation. He is staying very quiet which is worrying. For my perspective and many other fans Willian is a must stay player unless his demands are absurd. At the moment it is all about players leaving. Loads of rumours regarding players coming on but no.more than that. If we do get it sorted soon I can see Marco leaving and us becoming one of the relegation favourites. I hope I am proved to be wrong
This kind of nonsense is becoming too familiar with the way Fulham conduct their transfer business. No signings yet and the possibility of Willam leaving. Crazy!
The players come back for pre season training soon and no new signings even though we knew we was safe 3/4 into the season. Worrying trend with FFC who always leaves signings to the last minute. The most important thing is to resolve Marco’s situation which will give the club, players and new arrivals stability.
Please sack Tony Khan all of our troubles stem from him he knows absolutely nothing about football and should stick to his silly wrestling business and replace him with someone who knows what he is doing.
Offer more for one year with an option of a further year.
As great as Willian was last year, I think when he’s playing for more (AKA an extra year’s salary) he’ll play better. I mean most are likely to do so.
Poor publicity from the club if true but does not surprise me.Trying to buy his services as cheap as possible but end up losing the player and buying someone of less quality for more money.Be nice to know the truth on this.
