Manor Solomon continued his fine run of form by setting up the equaliser as Israel opened their European Championship qualifying campaign with a 1-1 draw against Kosovo in Tel Aviv this evening.

The visitors took a surprise lead ten minutes before the break when the unfortunate Eli Dasa put through his own net as he attempted to clear a cross from Norwich City winger Milot Rashica with Vedat Muriqi putting the full back under pressure. After Rashica had seen a goal disallowed for handball by the video assistant referee, Solomon supplied the equaliser with a fine cross that was converted by Dor Peterz after a mesmerising individual run that carried the Fulham winger half the length of the field.

Israel rode their luck in the final stages of an absorbing contest as Muriqi was denied a penalty having fallen dramatically in the area and then Rashica blazed over when it seemed simpler to score in the final minute of stoppage time.
