Fulham Women registered their second successive league win by easing to a 3-0 win over Dulwich Hamlet at Motspur Park earlier this afternoon.
Steve Jaye’s side kept up the pressure on top of the table Millwall Lionesses, after their outstanding away win at St. Paul’s last weekend, and second-placed Worthing by making an outstanding start inside three minutes. The Whites went in front when teenage forward Ede Buchele produced an inviting cross that the experienced Ellie Olds lashed into the net. Olds almost grabbed a second nine minutes later after applying pressure to the Hamlet backline but her shot was smartly saved by Saskia Reeves-Priestley.
The Dulwich goalkeeper then denied Olds again, shortly after excellent interplay between two of Fulham’s under-18s players in Buchele and the lively Alex Haysman, which culminated in the latter deftly turning a shot just wide of goal. The pattern of play, with the hosts enjoying the majority of the ball, continued after the interval with Georgia Heasman curling one inches over the crossbar. It seemed just a matter of time before the Whites doubled their lead and so it proved just after the hour.
Olds, a persistent thorn in Dulwich’s side all afternoon, made the difference once again driving deep into visiting territory and shooting towards goal. Her effort looped off Rhea Gall and over the stranded visiting goalkeeper. Reeves-Priestley kept her side in the contest with another excellent stop to deny Olds a hat-trick before Tia Foreman, who supplied a succession of splendid set piece deliveries at Millwall, sent in another superb free-kick that agonisingly eluded all the white shirts.
The home side made it three thirteen minutes from time when Heasman grabbed a deserved goal for another outstanding individual performance. The winger coolly converted a one-on-one to make sure all of three points and a brave save from Holly Cowan at the death denied Ella Wales-Bonner and preserved another precious clean sheets for the Whites. Fulham, who sit third in the table after this convincing victory, are next in action next Sunday against Enfield Town at Motspur Park, with a 2.30pm kick off.
