Shaggy-haired full back Marlon Fossey failed to breakthrough with Fulham after horrendous misfortune with injuries having shone at junior level. The popular American was blessed with rapid pace and was converted to a full back from a previous role as a flying winger having signed for Fulham’s academy as an eleven year old. Highly rated by Slavisa Jokanovic, he appeared to be on the cusp of a senior debut in summer 2018 only to badly injure his knee in pre-season. More injuries dogged loan spells at Shrewsbury and Bolton before Fossey belatedly made his Fulham debut in a League Cup defeat by Crawley Town in August 2022. Two weeks later he joined Belgian outfit Standard Liege permanently to secure first-team football.
