Fulham Women fell to their first defeat of the season this afternoon as Dartford Women registered their first league victory of the new campaign thanks to forward Emily Vaughan’s second-half winner.
The Whites dominated possession for much of a hard-fought encounter but couldn’t find the opening goal despite a number of good chances. Dartford goalkeeper Paris Smith made a number of smart saves, before Vaughan put the hosts ahead just before the hour mark. Fulham pushed forward in search of an equaliser but their late pressure didn’t pay off as Dartford held on to claim a deserved three points.
Steve Jaye’s side will seek to bounce back next Sunday afternoon when they take on Saltdean at Hill Park.
