Fulham are one of three sides interested in signing the Sporting Lisbon left back Ruben Vinagre, according to reports from Portugal this morning.

The 23 year-old wing back is not in Sporting head coach Ruben Almorin’s plans for the forthcoming campaign – despite the fact that the Lions signed him permanently from Wolves on Friday after his loan at Estádio José Alvalade last season. Vinagre, who made 69 appearances across three seasons at Wolves, only featured eighteen times for Sporting last term and they are willing to listen to offers for him this season.

Fulham, who are poised to announce the signing of Joao Palhinha from Sporting imminently, face competition from Nottingham Forest and Turkish side Trabzonspor for Vinagre’s signature, according to the Portuguese newspaper Record. The Whites are reportedly in pole position because of the Portuguese link provided by Silva and the player is intrigued by the possibility of a Premier League return, whilst Trabzonspor are only able to offer a loan.
