After excelling for years at academy level, Fabio Carvalho burst on the scene impressively following Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League. He made his debut in the League Cup against Sheffield Wednesday in September 2020 and got a brief taste of top flight action in the dying embers of Fulham’s derby defeat at Stamford Bridge before scoring on his first Premier League start at Southampton.
Carvalho caught the eye still further with a season’s worth of sensational performances when he was handed the number ten role by compatriot Marco Silva. The teenager was the creative hub in a stylish Fulham side that stormed to the Championship title, scoring eleven goals and adding eight assists in 38 appearances, after delaying a move to Liverpool until the summer to ensure his boyhood club went straight back up at the first time of asking.
