Fulham midfielders Luke Harris and Sonny Hilton have been nominated for the PL2 player of the month award for February.
Sixteen year-old Harris capped an outstanding breakthrough season for the under 23s with an astonishing nine-minute hat-trick at Newcastle in a 6-1 victory. The Welsh youth international then headed in the equaliser in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa that clinched the league title for Steve Wigley’s side.
Hilton, who has captained the under 23s throughout an extraordinarily successful campaign, scored direct from a corner twice in February – with his second effort sealing the title. The Liverpudlian also scored and added another assist in the thrashing of Newcastle and supplied the delivery for Harris’ header against Villa.
Joining the Fulham duo on the player of the month shortlist are Manchester City pair Juan Larios and James McAtee, Southampton’s Luke Pearce, Jesuran Rak-Sakyi of Crystal Palace and the Manchester United forward Shola Shoretire.
