Fulham are eyeing a summer double swoop for Liverpool defenders Joe Gomez and Neco Williams, according to reports this evening.

Williams has enjoyed an outstanding loan spell at Craven Cottage, slotting seamlessly into Marco Silva’s system as the Whites have surged away from the Championship’s chasing pack. The Welsh international has scored twice and added two more assists in nine appearances for the Whites whilst keeping four clean sheets. Fulham are eager to retain Williams’ services as they prepare for another tilt at the top flight next season and another loan deal looks probable at this stage.

Fulham are already drawing up a shortlist of centre halves as they seek to strengthen Silva’s defensive options for the challenge to come. England international Gomez, who has made just five Premier League appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side this term, is top of their list but the Londoners are likely to face serious competition in the race to sign the former Charlton defender. Tottenham, Newcastle, West Ham and Everton are all interested in the 24 year-old, who is considering leaving Anfield as he will need first-team football to remain in Gareth Southgate’s thoughts.
