Neco Williams is ‘delighted‘ to have joined Fulham on loan and hopes to help the Whites get back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

The Welsh international is excited by his the prospect of his first loan spell and admits that Harry Wilson’s account of life at Fulham played a big part in convincing him to come to Craven Cottage. He told FFCTV:

“I’m delighted. I was speaking to Harry Wilson, he was saying how much he enjoys it here. He was saying that it is a fantastic, big club and there’s no better way to arrive here and get the first training session out of the way straight away. It was a waiting game last night and I’m delighted that I’m here.”

The 20 year-old full back feels that Marco Silva’s style of play will suit his own strengths perfectly.

“When I was younger growing up through Liverpool’s academy, I’ve always played as an attacker but I changed to right back from under 18s. I’d say I am an attacking right back. I’ve got that attacking minded sense to me. I like to get up the pitch, energetic – I’d say I’m an attacking full back. The gaffer likes attacking full backs and the style of football suits me. It’s a no brainer.”

Williams is targeting more first-team football as he looks to consolidate his place in the Wales starting line-up ahead of crucial World Cup play offs but he is also eager to help Fulham sustain their promotion push.

“I want to show everyone what I can do, try get as much game team as game. My style of football I like to assist and try and get as many goals as possible. Hopefully, promotion comes into all that as well and Fulham get back to the Premier League. My dad said when I spoke to him the other day it would be nice to have a Premier League medal and a Championship-winning medal, so hopefully I can get both!”
