Fulham are keeping a close eye on AFC Wimbledon midfielder Jack Rudoni with a view to launching a summer transfer bid, according to a Teamtalk report this morning.

The Dons are braced for close season interest in the all-action midfielder with Leeds, Wolves and Burnley all keeping a keen watch on Rudoni’s progress. More than half of the clubs in the Championship have sent scouts to Plough Lane with instructions to take a closer look at the 20 year-old this year and Fulham are believed to consider the Carshalton craftsman as a possible replacement for Fabio Carvalho.

Rudoni, released by Crystal Palace at the age of eleven, captained both the under 18 and under 23s sides on his way through the AFC Wimbledon academy. He gained senior experience on loan with Corinthian Casuals and Tonbridge Angels before enjoyed a stunning debut in the 2-1 win at Bristol Rovers on Boxing Day 2019.

The classy midfielder can operate right across the engine room and has followed up his fourteen first-team appearances last term with a sensational season after overcoming injuries and concussion at the start of the campaign. The left-footed playmaker has seven goals and added five assists in 36 appearances as Mark Robinson’s men have struggled at the wrong end of the League One table. He was one of four Dons academy graduates to feature in Wimbledon’s poignant return to Plough Lane.

Wimbledon reportedly turned down offers from Sunderland and Barnsley last month – but may find the interest harder to resist at the end of the season, with Rudoni – who is closing in on a century of first-team appearances for the club – understood to be out of contract in the summer.
