Fulham are keeping a close eye on AFC Wimbledon midfielder Jack Rudoni with a view to launching a summer transfer bid, according to a Teamtalk report this morning.
The Dons are braced for close season interest in the all-action midfielder with Leeds, Wolves and Burnley all keeping a keen watch on Rudoni’s progress. More than half of the clubs in the Championship have sent scouts to Plough Lane with instructions to take a closer look at the 20 year-old this year and Fulham are believed to consider the Carshalton craftsman as a possible replacement for Fabio Carvalho.
Rudoni, released by Crystal Palace at the age of eleven, captained both the under 18 and under 23s sides on his way through the AFC Wimbledon academy. He gained senior experience on loan with Corinthian Casuals and Tonbridge Angels before enjoyed a stunning debut in the 2-1 win at Bristol Rovers on Boxing Day 2019.
The classy midfielder can operate right across the engine room and has followed up his fourteen first-team appearances last term with a sensational season after overcoming injuries and concussion at the start of the campaign. The left-footed playmaker has seven goals and added five assists in 36 appearances as Mark Robinson’s men have struggled at the wrong end of the League One table. He was one of four Dons academy graduates to feature in Wimbledon’s poignant return to Plough Lane.
Wimbledon reportedly turned down offers from Sunderland and Barnsley last month – but may find the interest harder to resist at the end of the season, with Rudoni – who is closing in on a century of first-team appearances for the club – understood to be out of contract in the summer.
Back of the queue for you boys , you’ll never get Rudi due to the fact of screwing us over Patrick Roberts
A fact no one involved will remember or care about. Grow up. Whoever pays the most will sign him. Might be Fulham, might not be, it’ll just be business.
Again with the midfielders! This lad seems to inspire loyalty from his fans, and Allen, I thought Patrick Roberts was ‘the business’ (‘pushy’ dad continually badgering Kit Symons did for him apparently). Over the years I have seen similarities with Tim Ream and Sir Robert Moore, but he has slowed and will leave us exposed IF we get promoted. Tosin played well with Anderson last season and we will at least need another decent central defender alongside him. Slavisa Jokanovic apparently asked for a big Italian centre half to boss our back four. He was ignored and we know how that went… I’m sure that Marco Silva is aware of this problem and I hope that he is listened to.
Where will we put Aleksandar’s statue???
We will certainly need to reinforce our back line, with a left, center backs, we should also try and sign Neco
Definitely need a centre back to play alongside Tosin and a left back who can defend I would like to see us sign Neco as well, i don’t see why we are looking for a goalie as Rodek is good enough for the premiership.
I hope we are not going to sell Tosin to West Ham that would be stupid we have to keep our best players and bring in someone to play alongside him in the premiership if we are going to stay there this time around. We should be trying to extend his contract and not let it run down.
