Striker Jay Stansfield has signed a new two-year contract with Fulham, the club have confirmed this evening.
The former Exeter City forward has starred for Fulham’s academy side since joining the Whites in the summer of 2019 and has made four first-team appearances. He scored his first senior goal in the League Cup win at Birmingham City back in August.
The 19 year-old told Fulham’s official website:
“I can’t wait to get going again. I’ve been here for three years now and I’m lucky enough to sign a new contract to be here for an extra two. I can’t wait to show what I can do in these two years and hopefully push on and get closer to the first team. It’s been quite hard coming back from injury but I feel that I’ve been able to get through this mentally and come back both stronger and better. The new contract is a big reward at the end of it after a good period.”
Stansfield’s new deal will keep him at Craven Cottage until at least the summer of 2024, with Fulham holding a further year’s option.
Brilliant news. Congratulations Jay – I’m convinced you’re going to be a star!
Congratulations great news best wishes for the future.
Have we finally learned from our past mistakes pity we let Carvalhos contract run down.Best wishes Stanno.
Stans the man.
Congrats and well earned, it’s been tough this last year and you’ve come through, now we need to see more of Stan, por favor Marco. How about v Blackpool?
He has terrific potential. Great for player and club.. Nice to see someone repay loyalty. We will have to wait and see how greedy Carvalio is I fear the worst and hope for the best
How about a season loan back to Exeter in League 1? We’d even give him his dad’s number 9 shirt. Then he’d be ready for the Premiership with Fulham!!!
