Fulham defender Connor McAvoy will remain with Wealdstone until January after the National League outfit extended his loan this afternoon.

The teenage centre half initially moved to the Stones on a month’s loan in October but Wealdstone manager Stuart Maynard moved quickly to keep hold of the Scottish youth international after McAvoy’s excellent start at Grosvenor Vale.

Maynard told Wealdstone’s official website: “Connor’s come in and has been a revelation. You all saw from that tackle at Barnet last weekend that effectively won us the game. He will have a real chance to contribute across a busy festive period. We’re delight to keep him on board and thank Fulham for their continual work they do with us.”

McAvoy enjoyed a dream debut when he scored his first senior goal at Weymouth and has helped a resolute Wealdstone defence keep clean sheets against Grimsby and Barnet.
