Cultured midfielder Matt Dibley-Dias joined Fulham’s academy aged fourteen and his precise pass, long-range shooting and leadership qualities marked him out immediately as one to watch. Dibley-Dias, who moved to London from his native New Zealand as a child, signed a professional contract with the Whites in September 2021. After becoming a regular in the under-21 set up and winning the Johnny Haynes’ academy player of the year award, the talented midfielder extended his contract until 2027. Eligible to play for Brazil, Portugal or New Zealand, Dibley-Dias – the grandson of former Flamengo and Corinthians forward Manoelzinho – was called up to the All Whites’ squad in October 2023 only to suffer a hamstring injury.
