Marco Silva admitted his frustration that Fulham were unable to claim all three points in his first match in charge, but believes there is plenty more to come from his side after their draw with Middlesbrough.
Debutant Harry Wilson conjured up the perfect start with a fine finish midway through the first half, but Fulham were unable to make their dominance count and were punished when Marco Bola grabbed a point for Boro with thirteen minutes to play.
Silva told his post-match press conference: “We have players out and in some weeks our team will be stronger and for sure we will be different. he physicality of the championship? The games are always in this way. But it is up to you decide what style you want to play and to answer what your opponents do, We have enough players who know what playing in the Championship means.
Of course there was frustration that we didn’t get the result that we wanted and that I believe we deserved. At this level when you have chances to be more clinical and kill the game you can be comfortable. We had chances and we were dominant. The goal was a good example. We should score the second goal – but that is football.
Can’t hang about waiting for cairney to return, must wrap up the signing of matt grimes very soon, sell Anguilla and Seri and buy a striker who can play up front to lay it off and finish
Agree with John. For once we looked lightweight in midfield. We are clearly a top side in this division with lots of options but today we lacked someone to run the game in midfield. We need HR and Cairney. I’m not sure Francois is ready to be the main man in midfield in this division yet. If Anguissa is off then get Grimes.
Midfield ineffective. Onomah not up,to it. A Scott Parker left over, With Anguissa on this way why not give Seri a game we pay him enough. He might play well as a shop window. Ream and Toshin sound at the back. Felt for Rodak who I feel should have started. Mitro looks a shadow of his former self, but no one else. Wilson made a promising start. Not sure ofthe substitutions and the timings. A disappointing result for a match we should have won comfortably. Need to trim down high wage earners Seri, Le Marchant and Knockhaert though i fear nobody will take them. Why do all,our decent young players not want to sign contracts. We leave it too late to negotiate
Fought Josh had a very good game often the one helping the youngsters and putting foot in when they were losing the ball and was involved with most of our good play going forward, did miss a fit Cairney who would of run the show, but agree we need someone because getting to worry if Cairney will ever be the same, and we did miss Harrison Reed but he does pick up lots of niggles
Agree Daniel. Onomah set up the goal and other good goal scoring opportunities. I thought the only underperformers were Mitro and maybe Robinson. Otherwise a decent all round display given that it was the first of the season
I think if you play Mitro you must play Bryan to get those crosses in.
