Fulham have rejected Valencia’s bid to take Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa on loan, according to Sky Sports News.
Anguissa, who starred in a previous loan spell with Villareal following Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League in 2019, has featured prominently for Marco Silva’s side during pre-season and has still has two years to run on his current contract at Craven Cottage. The Cameroon international made more of an impression on the top flight last season than during a disappointing first campaign with the Cottagers and remains one of the club’s most prised assets.
It is understood that Fulham rejected Valenica’s loan move, which didn’t include a loan fee, out of hand. It remains to seen whether the Spanish side will return with an improved offer or if other European sides will move for Anguissa ahead of the end of the transfer window.
We need to keep Anguissa if we are going to get promotion again this season we can’t keep loaning out our best players.
Unless they don’t want to play for us. Agree that keeping Frank is preferable, but it has to be a Frank who’s bothered and wants to play and get us promoted. If he doesn’t, then as much as we’d like to be able to rely on his professionalism, there’s no point forcing him to stay – on his hefty wages – because he’ll be of no use.
Valencia though, are idiots if they think a loan for a top class player is going to fly without a decent loan fee. Who’s sent that offer over with a straight face?
